4th July 2002 The work about the Principle of Microscopic Reversibility by the permanent member Dr. J.J. Luetich was included in the Mathematical Physics Archive of the Department of Mathematics of the University of Texas at Austin (mp_arc). The paper, which comprises four parts: 02-289 I. The Gibbs energy form of the Fundamental Equation for multi-phase multi-reaction systems within the physical approach; 02-290 II. Linear combinations, Lagrange multipliers and Legendre transforms—a look at three methods to write the Gibbs energy of reactive mixtures; 02-291 III. Three fundamental theorems on Chemical Thermodynamics; and 02-292 IV. Microscopic reversibility and the information contained in the composition vector, reveals the existing connection between one of the principles of Molecular Kinetics and the bases of Chemical Thermodynamics. The author first discusses the methods to transform composition variables and the concept of homogeneity, and then gives a definition for the amount of information. The inclusion of the work in the mp_arc was done to make it available for the researchers of this prestigious american institution.
