Tourism in Argentine Republic
From the Puna (Argentine altiplano) to the South end of America; from the
Andes to the Atlantic Coast, the Argentine Republic offers to the tourist
uncountable destinies that will surprise by their beauty and variety, among
them: the Quebrada of Humahuaca (Jujuy), with its hills of colors, pre-Columbian
ruins and colonial constructions; the nonpareil landscapes of the Calchaquíes
Valleys (Salta, "la Linda"); two pleasant microclimates, Tafí the Valley
(Tucuman) and Merlo (San Luis); the archaeological and paleontological depots of
the National Park Talampaya (La Rioja); the desert of Ischigualasto, also called
"Moon Valley" (San Juan); the beautiful towns of the province of San Luis
(Potrero de los Funes, El Trapiche, Carolina, San Francisco del Monte de Oro);
the city of Mendoza, departure place of multiple excursions (the Atuel Canyon;
the Uspallata Valley and the Inca Bridge; the Cordón de Plata and the
Potrerillos Valley; the Aconcagua mount, with its 6,959 meters is the maximum
height of the Western Hemishpere; visits to warehouses and vineyards); the
colorful mountain region of the province of Cordoba (Villa General Belgrano, La
Cumbrecita, Carlos Paz and Cosquín); the Manzana Jesuítica (in the city of
Cordoba), declared "World Heritage" by the UNESCO; the beautiful Iguazú Falls
(Missions), with 275 jumps distributed throughout 2,700 meters; the ruins of the
reduction of San Ignacio Mini (60 kilometers from Posadas, Missions), founded by
the Company of Jesus; the city of Resistance (Chaco), well-known by the great
amount of sculptures that has in the spaces public; the ruins of the Old City of
Santa Fe (close to Cayastá); the cities of the Coast (Rosario, Victoria, San
Lorenzo, Santa Fe, Parana, Corrientes, Goya); the Autonomous City of Buenos
Aires, world capital of tango music, with its well-known "One Hundred Boroughs"
(San Telmo, La Boca, Balvanera, Palermo, Belgrano, Recoleta, Retiro, Barrio
Norte and Puerto Madero); the city of Luján (head of the Buenosairean district
of the same name), religious center of peregrination to the sanctuary of the
gorgeous Basilica of Nuestra Señora de Luján; the cities of the Atlantic coast
of the province of Buenos Aires (Mar del Plata, Miramar, San Bernardo, Villa
Gesell, Pinamar and Cariló); the province of La Pampa, ideal for the rural
tourism, with the typical stays of the Pampan plain where is it possible to see
the life of the "gauchos"; the Peninsula of Valdes (Chubut), whose gulfs the
austral frank whales go annually (from May to December), and where there are
colonies of marine wolves, marine elephants, magallanic penguins, guanacos, and
thousands of birds; the localities related to the Welsh colonization: Rawson,
Madryn, Trelew, Dolavon, Gaiman (most preservative, but whose name is not of
Welsh origin but tehuelche) and Trevelin; the beautiful Lanín volcano, near the
city of San Martin of the Andes (Neuquén); the National Park Nahuel Huapi (the
Victoria Island and the Forest of Arrayanes, Pampa Linda, Puerto Blest, and
uncountable lakes, mountain cascades and refuges); the city of San Carlos de
Bariloche, Villa La Angostura and the winter center of ski "Catedral Mount" (Río
Negro); the forests of millenarian trees near the city of Esquel (Chubut); the
Perito Moreno glacier, that shells on the Argentine Lake (Santa Cruz); and
Ushuaia (Tierra Del Fuego), the most austral city in the world.
